Rune question
I used to use a minor <weapon>, minor str, sup vigor, sup abs and vitae, but lately I have found the use of clarity and restoration runes to be more beneficial overall. I am running minor <weapon>, minor str, sup vigor, clarity and restoration atm.
Is there any truly negative aspect to using Clarity / Restoration in PvE or PvP over Vitae / Sup Abs? Obviously when fighting purely melee classes Sup Abs and Knights Insignias would prove beneficial, but overall in effectiveness is there a reason to not take Clarity / Restoration over Vitae / Sup Abs?
In PvE I hardly notice Blind / Weakness / Cripple, as most of the time in PvE its related to a hex and not a condition, however in PvP it's a very common occurrence to experience both blind and cripple as a melee class.

Sup Abs is only good in low end because only idiots attack a warrior wielding physical damage weapons. Clarity is good where you cant rely on someone else removing conditions. 10HP is always good, and I prefer it over resto, but thats personal
I run:
Minor Weapon (Helm with same weapon mod)
Minor Str
Sup Vigor
Vitae
Clarity
Works good for me

Well in PvE at least, I'd say Reduces Weakness duration on you by 20% (Non-stacking) is by far better than a puny +10 in HP... Whan a Charr land a Power Strike on you, an extra 10 HP isnt gonna make such a big difference anywayz :P And charr ARE idiots...
Playing PvP is a different matter. Better to use conditions and degen on warriors that attacking them right on. Put Hidden Caltrops or Shameful Fear on them and run/cast away :P

In pve where enemies still hit with physical a sup absorb will be better then a vitae... consider that if you get hit 3 times physical before you get healed you have gained the same as with a vitae rune. However high end where that doesnt happen, +10hp/reduced weakness/blineis far better.

10 hp is nothing if you can reduce the damage.

Not quite sure what u mean by absorbtion runes as Rune of Superior Absorbtion IS an absorbtion rune ![Stick Out Tongue](../../Img/tongue.gif)
A Warrior Rune of Superior Absorption reduces physical damage by 3.
As for Insignias...
Dreadnought: Armor +10 (vs. elemental damage)
Knight's: Received physical damage -3
Lieutenant's: Reduces Hex durations on you by 20% and damage dealt by you by 5% (Non-stacking) Armor -20
Sentinel's: Armor +20 (Requires 13 Strength, vs. elemental damage)
So reduce ele dmg on a warrior... I would have to say no

+X Armor vs Elemental Damage = Less damage from Elemental sources (e.g. Elementalist Spells)
So yes, you can reduce ele dmg, but I don't think that those insignias are worth it...

"+X Armor vs Elemental Damage" vs "Reduce Dmg" in NOT the same thing...

2 years ago damage reduction on shields, from Absorption Runes, and on Ascalon/Knight's Armor reduced all damage.
Then someone bitched about it giving Warriors too much reduction (-2 or -3 from Ascalon/Knight's Armor, -3 from a Superior Absorption Rune, not to mention shield absorption @ -2 for in Stance/while Enchanted or -3 while Hexed), and it was changed to reduced Physical damage... which is why a Sup Absorption Rune no longer costs 60-100k, but a mere 100g.
Bastards.

This makes sense to myself. I just started playing again after not playing for roughly 2 1/2 years (cancelled my WoW subscription until at least WotLK). I suppose this is where I was confused =P. Anyone else remember when Sup Vigors were 50-60k?

The days when Fissure armor was only worn by people who ebay'd gold or literally farmed 12-16 hours a day for weeks. So much has changed since I last played lol

You definitely went through the wrong process of acquiring gold back in the day, then.
Fissure armor was 2-3 days worth of work waaay back in the day.. it's harder to get it now than it was back then.

I run 100 armor on all pieces. I have the +50 health and use 20% less conditions.
I use a sword and strength ONLY. I have 2 sets of Sword and Strength. One set it +1 no health loss and the other is +3 with health loss.
Once the baddies are mostly killed I switch armor and smash away.

Odd, I came back with under 100k a little over a month ago and so far I have bought 2 sets of fissure armor and have maxed gold and ~200 ectos and I have only put in roughly 160 hours. To me, thats absurdly easy compared to how it used to be (especially when ectos were nearly 15k and obby shards were almost 10k when I bought my first set).

this has gone waaaaay off-topic lol
so back on topic...
i put much more priority of clarity and restoration runes over vitae in ra
and usually only ra
it can be debatable in other modes
but ra, u dun always get a support/backline on ur team
and its full wit condition-based builds
and not so many spike-builds
so it fits that mode perfectly
